About the Position : As a Clinical Respiratory Care Specialist, you will provide essential respiratory care to a diverse range of patient populations. Your expertise will ensure that all treatments are delivered with precision and sensitivity to the individual needs of each patient.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate to meet departmental goals, adhering to established policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physical, psychological, and cultural aspects of patient care while accurately documenting findings.
- Administer a range of respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilation support, bronchial hygiene, and more, while managing all associated equipment.
- Utilize effective communication skills and problem-solving strategies to interact with patients and provide compassionate care.
- Review electronic medical records and follow physician orders diligently throughout your shift.
- Actively participate in emergency situations, providing airway management, ventilation support, and perform CPR as needed.
- Enhance workflow efficiency by monitoring processes and suggesting improvements as necessary.
- Fulfill other responsibilities relevant to your role, contributing to the overall success of the department.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care from an AMA accredited program is required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field is preferred.Experience : 0-3 years of acute care experience is required; registry eligibility is a must.Licenses and Certifications :Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the NBRC is preferred.Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice Respiratory Care in Maryland.CPR certification (BLS and NRP) from a recognized provider is required within 90 days of hire.Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, and PALS may be required within a year, depending on department needs.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
In-depth knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and related pathologies.Proficiency in operating respiratory care equipment within a clinical environment.Aptitude for assessing hazardous conditions and taking appropriate actions.Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations.Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities, ensuring effective interactions with a wide variety of individuals.This position offers a competitive hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 per hour.
