WEEKEND AM SEGMENT PRODUCER :

KTLA is looking for a dynamic Segment Producer for L.A.’s #1 rated Weekend Morning Newscast. Candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet various deadlines. This person also needs to be current on events; flexible in an ever-changing news environment; and possess strong personable skills for dealing with guests. The ideal candidate will also pitch segment ideas and participate in meetings with the weekend morning team.

DUTIES :

  • Conceptualize, book, write, and produce weekly live news segments, including hard news, community events, and feature segments.
  • Serve as the face of our Weekend Morning News to guests and clients, maintaining positive relationships. Prior relationships with publicists and PR are preferred.
  • Post segments on ktla.com after airing and contribute to the show's social media (IG, X, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok).
  • Develop and produce live in-studio segments and live field segments; adapt to breaking news and changing circumstances.
  • Fact-check, write unbiased content, and maintain segment and show documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Availability to work weekend mornings
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments
  • Positive and productive interaction with colleagues
  • College degree or equivalent experience; at least 3 years of experience in a similar role at a medium to large market station preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and ENPS is a plus
  • Compensation : $33.50 / hour+
