A forward-thinking city in Ventura County is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead high-impact capital infrastructure projects —with a focus on water and wastewater systems . This is a hybrid leadership role , requiring approximately 75% on-site presence to provide hands-on oversight and team leadership. Ideal for senior engineering professionals who thrive in dynamic municipal environments and value long-term infrastructure planning. Must be authorized to live and work in the U.S.A.

Engineering Manager Responsibilities :

  • Direct planning, design, and execution of water / wastewater and public works capital projects
  • Lead, mentor, and manage engineering staff to ensure accountability and performance
  • Represent the City in public forums including City Council, Planning, and Traffic Commissions
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to streamline project delivery
  • Promote sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement in engineering operations

Engineering Manager Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PE license preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within a public agency setting
  • Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructure and capital improvement programs
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, asset management, and water / wastewater systems
  • Comfortable being on-site approximately 75% of the time to lead operations and engage stakeholders

    • Engineering Manager Compensation :

  • Base salary range : $141,000 – $212,000 , depending on experience and qualifications
  • Performance-based annual increases , plus raise after 6-month review
