We are looking for a Planning Manager to join our team. The Planning Manager is responsible for Scheduling within RMS, overseeing both Master and Shop Scheduling Teams. These teams will synchronize material movement between RMS businesses as they pertain to Engineered Equipment, with an emphasis on Houston-based facilities (Breaux Machine Works, BJ Superior, Fusion Inc., Mepco, and Pearland Works).

Ensure that all work is correctly sequenced to support OTDMonitors, and mentors, a growing team of Master and Shop SchedulersWith Master Schedulers, creates and maintains templates to feed into home-grown “One Source of Truth” software platformWorks from various Houston plant locations; expected to visit / work from multiple facilities any given weekCoordinates, thru extended Team, work with individual shop Leadership regarding workload and batting orderProvides guidance to Kitting operation; ensures that job materials are ready to go to shop floor when neededEnsures that EO Ops Team is working on the right jobs, in the right order, at all times.Coordinates with local Buyers for outsourced activities (PWHT, paint, etc.)Monitors inbound raw materials to ensure they land at the correct RMS facility, and coordinates intercompany moves of material + job paperwork between shops as neededUnderstands existing workload, and when unplanned projects present themselves, is able to pivot and shift work (both internally and between RMS shops) appropriatelyDevelop and own Machine Tool and Mechanic Resource Loading toolCreates KPIs to highlight the bottleneck, then works to expand the bottleneckWith Shop Scheduling Team, owns creation of simple Travelers for intercompany workDrives action to quickly resolve project impediments or non-conformitiesMaintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.Responsible for understanding and driving adherence to safety policy, procedures, and instructions.Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.General :

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
10 plus years’ experience in leadership role in an industrial settingAdvanced Rotating Equipment knowledge with compressors, turbines, expanders, etc.Thoroughly understands P6 and inner workings of ERP systems, BOM MRP, etc.Advanced Excel knowledge a plusREQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or higher education from accredited institutionADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The position will be based in RMS’s Houston, TX facilityThis is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on project needs.This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.Ability to act professionally under stressful situations.Able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background checkAble to understand, read, write and speak English.Ability to lift 30 pounds.Authorized to work in the United StatesRMS Inc. may have government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees working on those projects. If an employee does not meet these requirements, they may be reassigned to a different location or be ineligible to work on certain assignments.Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may work / enter a shop or field service environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts.
