Tropical Shipping in West Palm Beach, Florida is seeking a Client / Server SR Network Administrator!
The ideal candidate will manage, configure, deploy, support, and troubleshoot systems and applications across servers, storage, networks, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and cloud environments. You’ll also evaluate options, make recommendations, and ensure enterprise IT infrastructure remains secure and high performing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies in servers, network, cloud, and cybersecurity.
- Provide technical support and assist staff with client / server network research.
- Design, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and load balancing solutions.
- Coordinate and implement new client / server network setups.
- Conduct physical site surveys for infrastructure planning.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.
- Monitor, analyze, and manage network performance, identifying and resolving connectivity issues.
- Administer Storage Area Networks (SAN), HBAs, and coordinate with vendors on SAN-related tasks.
- Ensure systems and data are backed up and meet corporate recovery time objectives (RTO).
- Enforce and monitor compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Respond to and remediate security incidents or breaches.
- Provide training to staff on network and system operations.
- Research and evaluate new technologies for inclusion in strategic IT plans.
- Prepare and present technical recommendations and documentation.
Education :
Associate’s degree in computer science, Systems & Network Administration, or related technical field.MCSE or Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Admin certification preferred.Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in client / server networking, LAN installation, and troubleshooting.Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and / or Citrix.Strong understanding of client / server architecture and networkingFamiliarity with IT security frameworks, including NISTProficiency in Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Citrix, FTP, and encryption protocolsExperience with SANs, backups (Unitrends), storage (Tegile / Tintri), load balancers (Kemp)Licenses :
