About the Role
The Company is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join its Board of Directors. Board members play a crucial role as decision-makers and ambassadors, providing leadership in the oversight and execution of the organization's strategic plan. The ideal candidates will share the company's values for the arts and community building, and will be committed to fostering pathways for collaboration, encouraging mentorship, and increasing social awareness through the representation of non-mainstream perspectives. Responsibilities include attending regular board and committee meetings, which are primarily conducted via video conferencing, and serving a three-year term with a two-term limit. Board members are also expected to contribute financially in a manner that is meaningful to them and to act as advocates for the company in their respective communities.
The most important qualifications for new board members are a genuine enthusiasm for the company's mission and a strong commitment to active participation. While not mandatory, special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in legal, HR, fundraising, marketing, PR, or those who are South Side residents, professional artists, or work in the arts on a national scale. The company encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including people of color, people with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+. The successful candidates will be individuals who are dedicated to the pursuit of artistic excellence, and who are willing to invest their time and energy in support of the company's goals.
