HDR is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in North Carolina. This position may be based out of any of our five North Carolina offices (Asheville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Wilmington). They will typically work under and with Senior Geotechnical staff and be responsible for the geotechnical analysis and design or the interpretation and understanding of subsurface conditions of infrastructure projects including but not limited to roadways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, soils and rock slopes, etc. Opportunities will exist to participate on high profile infrastructure projects in the Southeast and across the United States. They will also develop subsurface investigation and laboratory testing plans, review boring logs and laboratory data, and design plans for a variety of geotechnical tasks such as slope stability, driven piles and drilled shafts, and also provide project specific analysis / evaluation for sites with seismic considerations, including slide remediation, ground improvement, and others. They will prepare geotechnical reports and also expect to coordinate with project managers to implement measures to successfully meet all project goals and objectives.
