Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible to assist with the month-end close, managing financial activities and overseeing accounts payable, account receivables, payroll and general ledger accounting functions on a daily basis. Responsible for ensuring that the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices, governmental regulations and Company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with timely monthly, quarterly, and year end closings.
  • Assists the Business Unit Controller in the daily banking requirements.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Responsible for the monthly physical inventory process.
  • Works with the Controller to ensure clean and timely internal / external audits.
  • Ensures the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supports and assists with budget and forecasting activities.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Guides the accounting staff and other departments regarding the handling of non-routine transactions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying observations, and recommendations to operational issues.
  • Responds to inquiries from Park Corporate staff as well as other business units for financial information and special reporting requests as needed.
  • Responsible for the safety of employees and creating a work environment that supports the Company's mission of providing a wonderful experience for our customers.

Other Job Duties

  • Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Manages all personnel issues relating to staff.
  • Works with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitors and advises on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
  • Supports the Business Unit Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Flexible work schedule as required for job duties.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.
  • Required Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting from an accredited university / college.
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience and minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Strong motivation and self-starting initiative is required.
  • Strong organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally including across business units.
  • Additional Experience / Skills
  • Manufacturing experience useful, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Accounting Systems including GL, INV, AP, AR, CST, WIP.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a time-sensitive environment in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be fair, non-biased and ethical in all facets of the work environment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematic fundamentals - add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details.
  • Cooperative and willing to assist others.
  • Training Requirements

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend required safety and environmental training, as determined by the EH&S office.
  • Participate in accounting seminars / training as determined by the Accounting Department.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Job requires lifting of product / supplies ranging from minimal to 45 pounds on occasional basis, and may periodically require it throughout a production shift.
  • Individual will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
  • Repetitive use of hands and wrists for keyboard work.
