Faculty Clinician is a non-ranked, non-tenure track / non-tenured appointment that applies to Full-time or Part-time physicians and other healthcare providers who are employed by Baylor College of Medicine and practice at an affiliated healthcare location (such as Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group).

Summary

Hospital Based Services is seeking qualified Certified Anesthesia Assistant candidates to provide services at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. Under the direction of an attending anesthesiologist, an anesthesiologist assistant will assist in perioperative patient management, including the performance of the preoperative anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthesia, and postoperative anesthesia care. These responsibilities may be carried out in the operating room, cardiac catheterization lab, intensive care unit, radiology suites, endoscopy suites, or other places in hospital designated by the attending anesthesiologist.

Job Duties

• Administers all forms of anesthesia including inhaled, intravenous, neuraxial, and regional, for surgical or medical procedures.
• Assesses and evaluates patients prior to the administration of anesthesia to formulate anesthetic plan.
• Inserts and uses invasive and noninvasive monitors, as indicated.
• Responds to emergency / code situations to provide airway management.
• Documents anesthetic information and patient condition.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
