Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to be a core contributor to our daily accounting operations and month-end close cycle. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for executing key accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. This is a hands-on role requiring proficiency with multiple systems and a high degree of precision.

What you'll do

• Month-End Close : Execute month-end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries (accruals, amortization, recurring revenue, adjusting entries, and more), and ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Reconciliations & Analysis : Perform and review detailed reconciliations of complex balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank reconciliations, accrued expenses, prepaid assets, deferred revenue), investigating and resolving any variances.
• Revenue Support : Assist the Controller with the application of the company's revenue recognition policy, supporting analysis, and preparing related schedules.
• Operational Accounting : Manage and troubleshoot issues within the purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle and employee expense management, utilizing systems like Ramp or Concur .
• Sales Taxes : Ensure compliance with various bodies on sales tax / GST collections, exemptions, payments, and timely filings
• System Utilization : Operate proficiently across various financial systems including Netsuite, SAP, Rippling, Concur, and Ramp to execute daily tasks and extract data.
• FP&A / Reporting Assistance : Support the finance team by compiling data and reports needed for the forecasting / budgeting process and generating quote-to-cash reporting metrics.
• Audit & Compliance : Prepare audit-ready documentation and support internal control testing.
• Process Improvement : Identify and recommend improvements to existing accounting processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, with a strong attention to detail.

The pay range for this role is :

75,000 - 90,000 USD per year (San Jose, CA)
