Salary Range : $150,300 to $167,000, adjusted based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
You will be responsible for overseeing the in-field implementation of policies and procedures related to Radiation Protection (RP) programs. This position directly manages the activities of Radiation Protection first line supervisors and technicians, supporting both plant operations and maintenance activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist the Radiation Protection Program Manager in developing, reviewing, and implementing departmental procedures and policies, ensuring they comply with federal and company regulations.
- Participate in business planning and review processes to address RP needs and fulfill managerial responsibilities for staff including employment, development, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure consistency and effectiveness in workforce practices across all supervisors and functions.
- Attend peer meetings to promote the application of industry best practices and standards at all sites.
- Ensure effective management of department activities, priorities, and resources to meet the needs of operations and maintenance, including planning for refuel outage support.
- Drive performance improvement for RP first line supervisors and technicians.
- Act as the department head in the absence of the Radiation Protection Senior Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by providing critical observations and feedback to site and departmental staffing.
- Fulfill other assigned duties as directed by management, including emergency response and departmental duties, or additional roles in support of outage activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (e.g., health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics) OR equivalent experience as outlined in ANSI / ANS-3.1-2014 with 5 years in applied Radiation Protection in nuclear power including 0.25 years of on-site experience; ORAssociate's degree in a science-related field with 7 years of applied Radiation Protection experience; ORQualified by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) as an ANSI Radiation Protection Technician with 7 years of applied experience including 0.25 years on-site; ORHigh school diploma / GED with 9 years of technical experience in nuclear power, including 5 years in applied Radiation Protection and 0.25 years on-site experience.3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.Compliance with additional ANSI / ANS-3.1-2014 training, selection, and qualification standards for nuclear power personnel.Maintain unescorted access requirements and favorable health examination based on position duties.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certifications.Previous supervisory experience in Radiation Protection.INPO accredited ANSI Radiation Protection Technician qualification.
