Medical Assistant
Medical Assistants are key members of our care team, performing clinical procedures and diagnostic testing under the supervision of licensed clinicians. Working alongside Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians, they help deliver high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a medical assistant training program with certification, 2+ years of medical assistant experience in urgent care, immediate care, or emergency room settings, knowledge of computerized information systems (EMR) used in clinical management settings, and direct experience with clinical intake, patient data collection, laboratory specimen collection, and performing EKG testing.
Principal duties and responsibilities include supporting clinic operations, greeting and assisting patients, managing multi-line phone systems, accurately collecting and verifying patient insurance and demographic information, coordinating patient scheduling needs, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care, assisting providers with clinical procedures, conducting clinical intake, performing venipuncture and lab specimen collection, administering point-of-care testing, performing quality control testing, maintaining well-stocked and sanitized exam rooms, meeting performance expectations, supporting the discharge process, managing patient flow, executing provider orders, facilitating patient referrals, ensuring daily clinic compliance, participating in team meetings, contributing to team development, adhering to safety protocols, and identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
Working conditions include prolonged periods of computer use and desk work, occasional bending, stooping, and light lifting, potential travel to other clinic locations, and exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens.
