About the Role
As an Advanced Life Support Paramedic, you will be the frontline medical provider delivering immediate care during emergencies. Your responsibilities will include administering advanced life support from the moment of initial contact until the patient is safely handed over to a medical facility.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as a representative of the ambulance service during public events and provide standby services as needed.
- Document assessments and treatments accurately using patient care charting software.
- Treat patients in various states of medical or trauma crisis with compassion and skill.
- Work alongside a partner in a two-member ambulance crew responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment and techniques to provide life-saving care.
- Assess injuries and prioritize medical procedures to stabilize patients.
- Drive and operate emergency vehicles safely and efficiently while responding to calls.
- Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of on-site medical professionals.
- Maintain communication with emergency treatment facilities concerning patient status and treatment plans.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the ambulance post-transport, adhering to infection control protocols.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED.Proficiency in assessing and addressing the needs of patients and their families.Ability to document and communicate effectively using various documentation tools.Competency in providing age-appropriate care across all patient demographics.Understanding of infection control practices and safety procedures.Strong ability to apply knowledge and training to develop effective emergency care plans.Current certifications in ACLS, PALS, and Basic Life Support, as well as an EMSVO Certification.PA EMT-P Paramedic or NREMT-Paramedic certification, and a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License upon hire.Preferred Qualifications :
Associate's Degree.Two years of experience in advanced life support services.One year of pre-hospital paramedic experience.Option for Pre-Hospital RN certification in Pennsylvania upon hire.Physical Demands :
You will be required to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. The role entails frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
