San Diego Studio is seeking a highly skilled User Interface Technical Designer to develop and support our game's front-end user interfaces. You will collaborate with interface artists, using redlines and mock-ups to build flexible interface systems. Some tasks may involve ambiguity, requiring designers who can consider the big picture and are eager to tackle complex challenges. If this describes you, please apply.

Responsibilities :

  • Implement interface screens pixel-perfect to mock-ups and redlines created by interface artists.
  • Work with UI Artists and Game Designers to ensure mock-ups are technically feasible.
  • Collaborate with engineers to establish data contracts for screen development.
  • Assist in building wireframes or mock-ups as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Experience developing user interfaces for video games or related fields, with familiarity in UI frameworks.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of industry-leading technology, workflows, and software.
  • Basic understanding of software programming methodologies and terminology.
  • Experience working on AAA console games or mobile platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical requirements.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work efficiently under strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility to iterate and adapt based on feedback from design and playtests.
  • Nice to have :

  • Knowledge of C++ or other programming languages.
  • Understanding of animation standards and methodologies.
  • Experience developing across multiple platforms, including mobile and responsive web.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Photoshop.
  • Strong grasp of user experience principles, including UX, design, animation, art, and tooling.
