Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT-Float) to support patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This role involves providing essential comfort and basic care to patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatric, and adult populations within a regional healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment adhering to unit safety and infection control standards.
- Offer comfort measures and assist patients with daily needs, including meal support.
- Record and communicate vital signs and observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake / output to supervisors.
- Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with patient transportation as needed.
- Prepare formula in the NICU department when applicable.
Qualifications
ACT : Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care facility.ACT-Float : Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.NICU Department : Required minimum 2 years CNA experience; pediatric experience highly preferred.Basic computer proficiency is required.Ability to read, speak, and follow instructions in English is essential.Familiarity with electronic charting is preferred.Education
Must hold one or more of the following upon hire :Current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification
Licensed Vocational NurseMilitary CorpsmanNursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing, including initial assessment and vital signsCertification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer is required for specific departments.Maintain a minimum of 10 continuing education hours related to work annually as an alternative to licensure maintenance.All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
