As a Technician Apprentice, you will assist on the job site, as needed, with the installation of burglary, fire, IP Video, and Card Access systems while working under the close supervision of a more Senior Technician or Project Manager. The Technician Apprentice will have the ability to advance their career as a Field Technician as they gain knowledge, skills, and abilities. SHIFT : 8 hour workday
Some shifts may require overtime
JOB TYPE : Permanent Full-time
PAY RATE :
17-$20 / Hour (depending on experience)
Description :
- Completing all assigned duties while learning from the Senior Technicians and Project Managers
- Traveling out to various public and private spaces to assist Technicians, Senior Technicians and Project Managers
- Organizes and utilizes technical resources, information, material, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required
- Interpret blueprints and schematics
- Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, door frames and wall cavities, then position cables for strapping
- Inspect installation sites, study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements to ensure installation procedures have been met
- Install security systems and related equipment, to include cabling, control panels, security devices and video cameras
- Test circuits and sensors to ensure proper functionality
- Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications. Communicates with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and other Company staff; working as part of a team contributing to company goals.
REASONING ABILITY : Job requires being careful about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw conclusions drawing upon experience, research, and input from peers. This position performs multiple job tasks on a daily basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : While performing the duties of this position; the employee may be exposed to various climates and conditions. Wearing of safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
EDUCATION :
High school diploma or GED (Required)
Technical school training a plus
