Mental Health Counselor

Essential Responsibilities :

Conduct comprehensive, individualized biopsychosocial assessments and complete all required documentation.

Document assessment findings and referral recommendations in clinical notes, including writing progress notes and recording service delivery.

Collaborate with clinical staff or designees to staff cases and make recommendations to minimize future substance abuse, behavioral, and affective disorders.

Provide assessment, individual, and group counseling for adults and their families in various community settings, including outpatient services and partner organizations.

Develop individualized intervention and treatment plans with measurable objectives.

Coordinate with community-based providers, both public and private, to connect clients with additional services.

Submit all required paperwork to referral sources within specified timelines.

Qualifications :

Master s degree in Social or Behavioral Science field.

At least two years of experience in individual or family counseling (if the degree is in an unrelated field, counseling experience is required).

Licensure under Chapter 491, F.S. As a Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or Mental Health Counselor is preferred.

Strong understanding of program practices, policies, documentation, and confidentiality rules.
