Senior Logistics Specialist
Summary
This role supports leadership by overseeing key functions within transportation and distribution operations. The position contributes to developing transportation processes, evaluating operational performance, and supporting future-state logistics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage data and entries within third-party Transportation Management Systems; generate reports and analyze operational trends.
- Serve as an escalation point for transportation vendors or customers regarding freight concerns.
- Work with external partners to secure domestic and international freight quotes; evaluate trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assess freight forwarder performance and assist in defining and maintaining transportation processes, including QBR participation and carrier accountability.
- Support freight audit and payment activities.
- Provide assistance for inbound and outbound transportation functions across the organization.
- Support transportation coordination requests as needed.
- Assist in establishing carrier claims procedures with carriers and insurance providers; ensure related databases are properly maintained.
- Contribute to analysis of carrier performance and transportation lanes.
Experience
5+ years of experience in transportation operations or a related logistics function.Education
Post-secondary education in a field such as Supply Chain or a related discipline.Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong customer service orientation.Demonstrated leadership capability.High attention to detail with a track record of completing projects.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Self-driven and able to work independently.Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of domestic, international, and parcel transportation networks.Ability to use data to identify operational efficiencies.Capable of evaluating processes and recommending continuous improvements.Experience navigating change and supporting teams through transitions.Travel
