MHI Ship Repair & Services is a major marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration and Commercial ship owners and operators worldwide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Timecard verification and distribution daily.
- Prepares departmental reports and maintains logs. May handle government permits or state and city permit applications.
- Maintains shop records and work procedure to include monitoring badge expiration dates, employee training logs and certification records. Maintains shop MSDS requirements.
- Handles shop filing, shop mail, and emails. Performs general data entry tasks as required.
- Reviews specs for jobs and order materials
- Receives deliveries and arranges distribution to appropriate shop personnel.
- Maintains inventories.
- Assist with pricing original and growth work material.
- Handle shop requisitions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.Three - five years of pipefitting experience within maritime industry.Has knowledge of commonly used Pipefitting concepts, practices, and procedures and have ability to operate forklift, and other related trade equipment.Must be able to read instructions and follow simple diagrams. May require ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.Must be able to perform tasks independently after being given specific instructions.Must have keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word and Excel.Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Must be steady, reliable workerMHI offers competitive wages and excellent benefit package.
