General Description
Our Medical Assistants (MA) are integral to our clinic and are responsible for assisting Providers with medical treatment of patients within a patient-centered philosophy. The MA will assist with the daily functions of the Mobile Clinic.
Essential Job Duties
Assist with driving Mobile Unit to and from designated locations.Experience driving large rigs : Trucks, RVs, or other large vehicles. CDL is not required.Maintains a valid Arizona Driver's License. Must have and maintain a clean driving record.Greets patients in a friendly and professional manner.Assist with patient registration process : collecting and verifying patient information, including personal, medical & insurance information.Take vital signsDocumentation in EHR, past medical history, social history, surgical history, immunizations, and update medicationsMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.Prepare patient for examAdminister medication / injection, maintain patient's confidentialityAssist providers as neededConduct Point of Care lab tests / Nurse visits when appropriate (influenza, Covid, Glucose, INR and UA dips.)Conduct quality control checks of machines and kits as directedVerify lab orders / requisitionsCheck patients out & schedule follow up appointmentsClean and restock of patient exam rooms throughout the dayCreate needed supply and or medication order listsOversee inventory of medical supplies and equipmentOpen and close the mobile clinic as necessaryOther (Non- Essential) Duties
Other duties as directed by Medical Practice ManagerMinimum Qualifications
Medical Assistant with the intent to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within 90 days of hireAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingFunction in a team environment with courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of patients and other team membersGood organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of recent experience working in a provider's officePhysical Requirements / Working Conditions
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand / walk for most of the workday; must be able to lift and move up to 50 poundsMust be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptionsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment
