Airswift has been tasked by one of its major chemical clients to look for a Lead Project Scheduler to work a long-term contract in La Porte, TX.
The Lead Project Scheduler reports to the Manager of Project Controls and serves as subject matter expert for scheduling on assigned projects. The responsibilities of the Scheduler to assist the Project Managers in controlling and monitoring overall project schedule performance as it relates to the approved scope baseline. A schedule analyst also monitors actual engineering, procurement, and construction progress versus baseline, and provides recommendations for mitigation for any variances. Specific duties of the Scheduler may include :
- Preparing initial project schedule
- Preparing integrated schedule by assembling schedule inputs from internal resources, contractors, and subcontractors
- Formulating critical path analysis
- Managing schedule reserve
- Evaluating change orders and variances to determine schedule impact
- Interfacing with project managers, project cost controllers, construction supervisors, and contractors to maintain schedule control
- Earned Value Management analysis of project performance including preparation of project EPC earned value curves
- Generating and monitoring schedule tracking metrics
- Generating and maintaining reporting for monthly project status communications
- Analyzing schedule information from contractor
- Flagging productivity / critical path / deadline issues
- Recommending mitigation to project leader / construction supervisor
- Analyzing schedule for each project phase vs. baseline
- Identifying and communicating critical milestones
- Identifying and communicating schedule variances or concerns
Qualifications :
10+ years experience with scheduling and / or project controlsExperience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6Understanding of GAO Schedule Assessment and DCMA Schedule Assessment methodologiesUnderstanding and practiced use of schedule metrics and analysis, such as SPI, earned value management, productivity analysisMust be able to develop strong relationships with project managers, construction supervisors, cost controllers, outside engineering, construction and equipment supply firmsMust be capable of handling multiple assignmentsProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to read, write and speak in English.Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.Additional Desired Qualifications :
