Observe daily production line progress and pre-empt bottle-necks in production. Maintain an active presence on the floor to monitor, motivate and ensure success Ensure that daily production goals / objectives are met; takes action when they are not met. Conduct a daily production meeting at the beginning of each shift to communicate the daily goals and progress to the crews and provides other required information. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of reconciliation, paperwork, and inventory transactions. Ensure effective change-over of lines, tanks and / or work cell. Report continuous or major problems to Maintenance Dept immediately. Ensure all equipment meets Apex clean and sanitary standards. Complete required Logs and required administration to ensure compliance with government and company standards. Understand and maintain a culture of "lean action" within the department so that we live lean better than any organization. Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) Verify MDI boards are being accurately completed and appropriate actions are being taken when results are abnormal to standards. Utilizes daily standard work for self and direct reports to reinforce a culture of discipline and consistent practices. Manage the safety, cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the shop floor and workstations. Ensures a clean and organized work environment that adheres to the Zones housekeeping schedule. Ensure OSHA safety requirements are being met and that company safety processes are followed. Management Competencies- Develop and maintain an organization of high performing people who are aligned with Apex Vision, Purpose and Values. Training- provides employees the skill and information they need to perform their jobs successfully and follows through to ensure learning. Leadership- Coaches employees to succeed and develops them for the future. Conduct Performance Evaluations- Objectively values and defines performance against outcomes and standards. Perform other work as assigned. This position requires more than 2 to 5 years in team leadership roles in a manufacturing environment or four-year degree. Ability to learn and apply cleaning and sanitizing processes. The ability to learn and understanding reporting software such as Alliance or other MRP software. Requires specific knowledge in a manufacturing environment. A high school diploma or GED is required. Some college is preferred. To be effective this person must have the ability to trouble shoot production equipment operation and perform autonomous maintenance on all filling machines and support equipment. Capable of multi-tasking the operation of Value Stream Area. Uses processes and technology to improve the quality and efficiency of production; follows processes well. Can maintain and grow technical knowledge and expertise. Can be accurate, precise and pay attention to detail. Has a "working" knowledge of personal computer operation. Is proficient at Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000 or higher. Can read and write at a high school level. Understands and can-do basic math and algebra to create a spreadsheet report or produce a query. Can read and follow specifications in English. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines. This position entails work of a cyclical nature. This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow, starting and stopping for product changeovers. It has no requirement for overnight or day travel. Indoors, seasonally hot and humid. Will be exposed to various fragrances which at times may be at elevated levels. Moving and lifting objects, sometimes 50 lbs. frequently. We are currently seeking a Team Lead to join our team based out of our Eden Prairie, MN location. This role will report to the Shift Supervisor and work onsite to contribute to the success of our customers by ensuring daily production line output meets or exceeds the production schedule and quality requirements.
Current shift availability
- Weekday First Shift Monday through Thursday (3 : 30 AM to 2 : 00 PM or 5 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, depending on a monthly rotation)
- Weekend First Shift Friday through Sunday (6 : 00 AM to 6 : 00 PM)
Job Responsibilities and Duties :
Adapt to schedule and personnel changes to ensure internal or external customers needs and delivery dates are met.
Ensure line change- over occur in the minimum time, with 100% run-readiness.
Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.
Ensure that equipment cleaning, and sanitation processes are followed and documented.
Selection- finds and retains the right people in each position and selects the right candidate.
Direction and oversight of others : Responsible for Value Stream Area operators.
