Floor Director, Maison, Maison Madison Flagship

Overview

The Hermès Maison Madison Flagship Boutique opened in 1983 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as part of the New York Region. This position reports to the Senior Floor Director and works collaboratively with the sales team and support teams to enhance the client experience in a fast‑paced, luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Floor Ambassador – Day‑to‑day supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training of the selling team; lead by example and ensure excellent client service.
• Manage Métier merchandising on the floor of responsibility; identify and address daily stock needs and communicate timely with the Managing Director, Operations Management team, and Merchant team.
• Bi‑annual preparation and attendance for buy; ensure visual standards are met.
• Team motivator and strategist – Identify a key Métier focus or Standard of Service each month; build contests, measurable selling campaigns, or similar to drive incremental improvement.
• Consistent communication with the Managing Director and store management team; weekly reporting and presentation at leadership meetings including sales to plan, team highlights, and issues.
• Coaching staff for improved performance; analyze productivity by Sales Associate, conduct monthly individual productivity meetings, set goals, and address all performance issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare inventories and cycle counts; partner with the Operations Director to reconcile discrepancies.
• Represent leadership of the entire store in the absence of the Managing Director; observe support team and Guard team productivity and adherence to policy.
• Budget responsibility – P&L, meeting sales and budget plan, and adhering to payroll budget; also responsible for shrinkage and loss prevention company goals.
