Structural Engineer Alexandria / Springfield, VA

We have an immediate need for a Structural Engineer with 410+ years of experience in the Alexandria / Springfield, VA area. This is a direct-hire opportunity ideal for a mid-career professional ready to lead project work, mentor junior designers, and grow into a future leadership role.

About the Role :

  • Lead and mentor structural designers and junior engineers
  • Manage projects under Principal supervision
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines
  • Analyze and design structural systems using IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, UFC, etc.
  • Conduct field surveys, assess existing structures, and produce technical reports
  • Oversee contract document production and construction administration

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural / Civil / Architectural Engineering from ABET-accredited program
  • PE or SE licensure required
  • U.S. Citizenship (federal project work; no sponsorship offered)
  • 4+ years of structural building design experience (not bridges)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring others

    • Preferred Tools :

    AutoCAD, Revit, RAM Elements / System, Tekla, Tedds, MathCAD, Bluebeam, Deltek Ajera
