Job Summary
In this role, you will lead a team to plan and execute survey and meteorology strategy, survey scanning, and drone pilot programs. You will supervise survey activities, subcontractors, field verification of materials, and daily data downloading and processing. Your leadership will ensure successful implementation of survey work with a project’s safety, quality, and environmental programs. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities :
Leadership / Supervision
- Proactively engages with their teams’ development, competency development / assessment, and feedback
- Leads in a broad range of construction work within the surveying discipline.
- Develops and recommends the construction surveying staffing plan for discipline group for approval by the PFE
- Directs surveying activities of the assigned survey staff, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Assesses needs and develops survey training plan for the project.
- Approves timecards, conducts performance assessments, and addresses employee relations concerns
Safety / Quality Control
Ensures the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programsEnsures housekeeping and cleanliness of the projectEnsures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safelyEnsures work methods planned and executed safelyDevelops Job Hazard Analysis and updates it as needed, or requirements changeReviews in coordinating and resolving engineering, and construction problems with project personnelLeads the review of project design and engineering documents, model, and model data to ensure their completenessOversees geospatial activities / scopesLeads Field and office training programPossesses responsibility for ensuring compliance with proceduresDirects the maintenance of survey records for job historyDevelops a process for tracking and maintaining required training and licensesEquipment Management
Prepares requisitions for consumables, services, and equipmentDevelops a process for tracking and maintaining survey equipment measuring and test equipment (M&TE) recordsEducation and Experience Requirements :
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills :
Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activitiesEnsures the corporate geospatial programs are properly implementedEnsures the project’s Survey Control Network plan is properly implementedCoordinates and schedules field activities with project supervision and staffMonitors the application of standard work processes and proceduresCoordinates and ensures availability of crews required to execute geospatial activitiesPossesses responsibility for the safe execution of Survey activities in accordance with applicable SWPPs required for construction (e.g., survey, marine, rail, tunneling, reality capture, remote sensing, metrology, UAS, LiDAR, GNSS, Machine control etc.) and local legislative codes / standardsEnsures the Survey personnel assigned to each task have the skill sets necessary to execute the work safely and effectivelyProvides direction to all Survey personnel as necessary to support Survey initiatives across the projectsProvides technical guidance to project teams on Surveying requirementsResponsible for working with project teams to ensure training programs are properly set up and being executed by qualified personnelCoaches project personnel during field assessments and observations, ensuring best practices are being utilizedConducts assessments and provides reports to project supervision / leadershipAssist GBU’s in RFP’s, Studies and FEED’s in Survey expertiseTotal Rewards / Benefits :
