Position Summary :
Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within a month of starting employment with University of Colorado System Administration. Please note, leadership may adjust in-office work requirements with a minimum of three months' notice before any change can be implemented.

Duties & Responsibilities
Colorado Open Records Act Compliance :
- Support the Director of Public Records Compliance in ensuring compliance with CORA and other similar laws.
- This position will receive CORA requests sent to the university; evaluate the request for statutory compliance; coordinate with the appropriate constituents, campus legal counsel, and other offices as needed, to ensure all responsive records are collected; work with the appropriate constituent and campus legal counsel to perform any necessary legal redactions; and respond to requestors.
- Identify when IT resources are required for request fulfillment and coordinating with IT personnel and the Litigation IT Systems Administrator as appropriate.
- In coordination with the Director of Public Records Compliance, develop and implement processes, business practices, and control mechanisms, reviewing status of operations, modifying and implementing procedures to increase operating efficiency, and determining effectiveness of desired results.
- Develop strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements for the statutory requirements of the Colorado Open Records Act, monitoring and assessing compliance, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in CORA Stakeholder committee meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Subpoena Response : This position may assist with responses to subpoenas.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent professional experience (professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis)Five (5) years of professional experience related to technical or administrative experience performing research and evaluation and / or of experience performing technical and administrative duties within the related functional area.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's or post-baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a closely related field.JD Degree, MSL, or paralegal certificate.Seven (7) years' equivalent experience as stated above.One (1) year working in an area involving statutory or regulatory compliance, preferably with public records requests.Experience with the Colorado Open Records Act (C.R.S. 24-72-201, et seq.) as well as other applicable statutes and regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") and FOIA. May substitute knowledge of similar statutes or compliance / regulatory laws.Experience working in a higher education setting.Experience working with an e-discovery review platform; Relativity strongly preferred.Experience with writing search queries and familiarity with Boolean search operators.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
