Practical Nurse - Community Living Center

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

Major Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Prepares, administers, records, and communicates results of medications, vital signs, treatments, etc.
• Carries out emergency measures and initiating procedures for obtaining medical / other types of assistance. Initiates CPR as needed
• Reviews the patient's progress toward established goals and motivates the patient toward the achievement of these goals. Documents as appropriate.
• Oversees the Nursing Assistant daily tasks.
• Manages workload effectively.
• Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with peers, coworkers, supervisor, and other health care system personnel.
• Prepares, administers, records, and communicates results of medications, vital signs, treatments, etc.
• Offers assistance to others.
• Maintains ICARE core values and the Mission Statement of the VASNHCS.

Work Schedule : Varies, may be expected to work Days or Nights, Holidays, and Weekends depending on service needs.
