JOB DESCRIPTION

ENROLLMENT SUPPORT STAFF

Advancing Communities Together's focus is to break the cycles of poverty, violence, incarceration, and high school by supporting, building, and transforming the lives of young people, their families, and communities through leadership development, academic growth, positive community impact, and personal accountability.

Advancing Communities Together is an innovative program designed to provide services to transition-aged youth at Palmdale Dream Center in the Antelope Valley area who are unhoused, unsheltered, or are at risk of becoming unhoused or unsheltered. The goal is to provide participants with preparation leading to a High School diploma, Life Skills and Leadership Development training, concurrently with vocational and hands-on training in construction trades. This comprehensive program also includes counseling, peer support groups, drivers education, extracurricular activities, and job placement services.

The Enrollment Support Specialist shall report to Olivia Cherry, COO, or designated ACT representative and provide the following services to program participants :

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in entering enrollment applications into appropriate

  • data-tracking systems and Student Information Systems
  • Assist participants with day-to-day attendance needs, signing in, tardy

slips, and absence forms.

  • Record participant absences daily, and call to verify their absences.
  • Register attendance changes throughout the day.
  • Provide up-to-date enrollment figures for registration.
  • Implement technical services to support and assist the registration
  • process.

  • Mail out registration materials, which include new enrollment form.
  • Enter and maintain the registration and student records in the school's
  • web-based student information service software-Student Information Systems

  • Maintain accurate computerized student data, class lists, grades and
  • attendance, and maintain cumulative student records.

  • Track attendance, grade entry, and testing.
  • Update the database with new enrollment and emergency form
  • information for each participant; register new participants as needed.

    Ensure all documentation is collected

  • Provide statistical data for local and state reports to include :
  • enrollment data, student schedules, and student entry and

    withdrawal information.

  • Assist all program staff and administrators with Student Information Systems reports.
  • Assist in the administration of the tests, as required.
  • Word processing, duplicates and file, and perform other office duties
  • as required

  • Participates in orientation, recruitment and outreach activities.
  • Support with participant schedules
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    What You Bring to the Table (Must Have) Minimum of High School Graduation or G.E.D. equivalent. Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver. Must have strong writing skills, proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and be highly organized.

  • Must function well in a team-oriented approach to member services; demonstrate knowledge of community resources
  • Must possess a high level of tolerance, patience, and understanding for a busy work environment working with and for individuals with urgent multiple needs, issues and problematic behavioral characteristics
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish / English)
  • Entry Level Office Data Clerk -Part-time hourly

    19 - $21 an hour; Flexible scheduling : Monday-Friday; 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm.
