Metal Forming Machine Operator (Shear & Brake Press)

The Machine Operator will operate manual production machinery and equipment, requiring the ability to read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints to select, position, and secure machinery and materials. The role involves loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and products using lifting equipment when available. The Machine Operator will also complete and maintain all associated electronic processes and paperwork, including bar-coding, checklists, stamping, blueprints, shipping / receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials. Additionally, the role requires performing pre-shift preventative maintenance and maintaining departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual production machinery and equipment.
  • Read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Select, position, and secure machinery and materials.
  • Load, unload, lift, and move materials and products.
  • Complete and maintain electronic processes and paperwork.
  • Perform pre-shift preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in carpentry, woodworking, sheet metal, or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly and machine operation.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in carpentry, woodworking, or metal forming.
  • Knowledge of working with hand tools.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of the workday.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs alone and over 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Capability to climb and balance.
  • Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage.
  • Ability to visually inspect products.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Must wear all required personal protective equipment.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00 / hr.
