Real Estate Appraisal Professional
Under direction and supervision, performs advanced-level professional real estate appraisal work to determine the value of complex residential properties (e.g. vacant acreage zoned residential, agricultural properties and improved properties valued over million dollars) for tax assessment purposes; and performs related work as required.
Defends assessments in the administrative appeal process, at the Board of Equalization level and in Circuit Court. Meets with taxpayers, property tax representatives, attorneys and county officials to explain the assessment process. Assists in the quality review of appraisals and training of both new and seasonal staff.
Note : Salary offer will be commensurate with related work experience, licenses and / or designations and will not exceed the mid-point of the advertised salary range ($100,632.48). Minimum Qualifications : Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following : Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree; plus three years field experience in the appraisal of real property.
Certificates and Licenses Required : Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
Necessary Special Requirements : The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is emergency / essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and / or other emergencies.)
Preferred Qualifications :
Certified Residential or Certified General Appraisal License, or Designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers (AAS, RES, CAE) and / or the Appraisal Institute (MAI, SRA, SRPA).
