Contract Duration : Services expected from 09 / 15 / 2025 to 08 / 31 / 2026 with potential renewal up to three years. Hours : Not to exceed 704 total hours. Weekly hours may vary depending on workload. Overtime must be pre-approved. Background : Worker must comply with TEA rules, procedures, and security requirements. Location : Hybrid – 90% Remote with possible on-site meetings at TEA headquarters, 1701 N. Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701. Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM Central Time (excluding Texas state holidays). Evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required with pre-approval. 1 hour of PTO earned for every 20 hours worked. Can carry over up to 5 days of PTO to the next calendar year. 5 paid state holidays (annually). 2 paid floating holidays (annually). $100 per year to apply toward annual certification fees or educational training.
The Senior Full-Stack Developer will perform advanced analysis and programming work involving all technical aspects of designing, creating, and maintaining software applications. This position will support the Texas Early Childhood Integrated Data System (ECIDS) project team by delivering software development services including technical analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and collaborative sprint / release work. The developer will identify technical specifications, data integration requirements, and governance structures needed to successfully implement ECIDS for the State of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements and create detailed design documents.
- Develop code that adheres to TEA and industry standards, best practices, and customer requirements.
- Conduct functional and integration testing to validate requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design documents, process flows, object / data models, environment diagrams, and test plans.
- Collaborate with project team members to estimate effort, discuss architecture / design, triage and resolve defects, and provide regular status updates.
- Support sprint and release activities, ensuring deliverables meet scope and quality standards.
- Define technical specifications and data integration requirements for ECIDS implementation.
- Contribute to system design methodology and data governance structures.
- Provide input into project planning, including resource estimates and risk assessments.
