Job Description

The University of Nevada Reno is recruiting for a Community-Based Recovery Programs Coordinator with Extension located in Las Vegas NV. The Program Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative oversight and support for program operations including coordinating events managing documentation maintaining databases and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. They will develop plan implement and manage health and nutrition-related programming and activities incommunity-basedrecoverysettings where individuals attend treatment education and programming for substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health services to facilitate a healthy sustainablerecoveryand reduce recidivism. The coordinator will connect and collaborate with external organizations (e.g. Vegas StrongerRecoveryFriendly Workplaces Westcare Foundation for Recovery etc.) SUD treatment providers both in-patient and outpatient alternative sentencingprograms mental health facilities and hospitals transitional housing and group homes alternative schools etc. to identify needs and provide programming and resources and to engage clients in healthy sustainablerecoverypractices. They serve as the primary point of contact for program inquiries facilitating communication between stakeholders participants and leadership while developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners. Additionally the coordinator implements outreach strategies to promote program visibility manages internship recruitment efforts and coordinates program activities including orientations meetings trainings and special events.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and three (3) years of related work experience; OR

Masters degree and one (2) years of related work experience

Related Experience : Community partnerships and implementation of community-based programs and Social Work or Public Administration mental Health and / or Nutrition

Schedule and Travel Requirements

Regular travel throughout Clark County is required for this position. Occasional overnight travel. Variable schedule may require evenings and weekends

University of Nevada Reno Extension is a major unit of the University and resides in the College of Agriculture Biotechnology and Natural Resources. Extension uses peer-reviewed research to find solutions to community-based issues and needs within six broad legislatively mandated areas : Agriculture; Children Youth and Families; Community Development; Health and Nutrition; Horticulture; and Natural Resources. The mission is to discover develop disseminate preserve and use knowledge to strengthen the social economic and environmental well-being of people and their communities.
