Job : Accounting Clerk II in Tucson, Arizona. HYBRID

Western National Parks (WNP), a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service (NPS), home-based in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a Full Time, Accounting Clerk II. In this role, you will be responsible for recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions to support financial operations.
WNP is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative individual who will work to provide exceptional support preforming a variety of tasks related to accounting. This role will also be tasked with ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reconciliation of WNP financial statements through audits. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for completing the following tasks and any related tasks as assigned :
- Collect, review, reconcile and input monthly sales data from each location
- Identify, research and resolve discrepancies in cash and credit card transactions
- Record bank activity, including deposits, manual checks, transfers, and ACH payments
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and balance those accounts
to the general ledgerPost accounts receivable payments from various sources including, but not limited to, wholesale transactions and philanthropy / development constituentsPost month-end journal entries and assist with monthly general ledger reconciliationsTrack board donations and restricted donationsPerform quarterly cash audits of on-site fundsProvide accurate monthly accounts receivable aging reportsUpdate and report daily cash balancesRespond to returned check notices and credit card disputesMonitor and resolve outstanding checks in a timely mannerRegular organization, filing, and retention maintenance of multiple document types on varying schedulesResearch and update state sales tax ratesRetrieve data and respond to queries from a variety of sourcesAssist in the performance of the annual audit, preparing requested schedules and responding to inquiriesReconcile Ecommerce sales data between Shopify and RetailProPerform any other related duties as assigned or requestedPHYSICAL DEMANDS

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
This role must have the following qualifications and / or experience unless otherwise noted :
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2‑4 years of general accounting experience, especially in the areas of A / R, cash management and bank account reconciliationsExperience with Sage 300, Shopify and RetailPro is a plus and is preferred but not requiredSome retail experience and / or non‑profit background preferred, but not requiredWorking knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations for general accounting areas including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, inventory, and general ledgerUnderstanding of general accounting principles and internal controlsProven history of managing multiple locations or simultaneous deadline‑driven projectsExtensive experience recording credit card transactions from multiple processorsExperience with a variety of computer programs including but not limited to Internet, databases, Video conferencing software (i.e. Zoom), and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint)Strong attention to detail and organization skillsStrong analytical skillsAbility to research, define, and correct discrepanciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsSuperior customer service skillsAbility to work alone or with a teamAdvanced Excel skillsWHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU
