Position Summary

As an emergency response medical professional, you will provide immediate care to individuals experiencing emergencies, such as accidents, sudden illnesses, or traumatic events. Your role will encompass both pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until the patient is transferred to a medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent our ambulance service at public events and provide on-site emergency support when required.
• Document patient assessments and treatments in our care tracking software.
• Assist patients facing psychiatric, medical, or traumatic crises with appropriate medical and therapeutic interventions.
• Work alongside a partner in an ambulance crew, responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Utilize advanced equipment for life support applications, including bag valve mask resuscitators and defibrillators.
• Assess the nature of injuries or illnesses to establish and prioritize necessary medical procedures.
• Follow dispatcher instructions while safely operating emergency vehicles to designated locations.
• Administer medications as directed, including injections and intravenous procedures.
• Communicate with hospital medical staff to receive further treatment instructions.
• Clean and sanitize the ambulance following transports involving infectious diseases and report any such cases to relevant authorities.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry up to 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead are required.
