Job Title : CNC Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator with experience in water jet or laser systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing machine operations, managing materials, and ensuring precision in production.

Responsibilities

Monitor machine operation and manage loading and unloading of raw materials and fixturing.
Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct secondary operations such as hole resizing, part deburring, and inventory management during machine operation.
Understand and efficiently apply relevant process specifications, design information, and planning documents.

Essential Skills

Proficient in CNC water jet and CNC laser operations.

Basic programming skills within manufacturing or job shop environments.

Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of CNC setup and operation best practices.

Experience in change management and willingness to embrace new skills and optimize workflow.

Physical ability to perform tasks that require climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting over 55 lbs.

Mechanical aptitude with the use of hand tools, fixtures, rigging, and inspection tools.

Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This role operates on the 1st shift from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime as needed for production demands. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled warehouse / production floor in a bench-style work area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 / hr.
