Community Operations Manager – Aces

Los Angeles (on-site, with travel to SF & NY)
About Aces
Aces is a private community for 150 of the top firm builders in venture capital - partners, GPs, and principals from firms like a16z, Khosla, Menlo, GV, and Lightspeed.
Our mission is to help world‑class investors build deep, lifelong relationships in a setting that’s warm, intentional, and non‑transactional. People join for professional reasons - deal flow, insights, access - but stay for the friendships : the deep, human connections that make them feel seen and supported.
The Role
You’ll be the operational and relational backbone of Aces – ensuring every member feels cared for and every gathering runs seamlessly. This is a hands‑on, relationship‑driven role for someone who loves people, details, and hospitality. You’ll work closely with Max (our founder) to bring structure and warmth to everything we do.
What you’ll own : Monthly Events :
Plan and run one high‑quality event per month in each city (dinners, workshops, creative experiences). The goal : members leave saying, "I really connected with someone tonight."
Annual Trip :
Help organize our yearly 3‑day retreat (last year in Jackson, WY) – coordinating travel, venues, and on‑site experience.
Member Relationships :
Build 1 : 1 connections with members through texts, check‑ins, and follow‑ups; keep WhatsApp and the monthly newsletter active.
Core Ops & Admin :
Maintain clean systems in Notion, Airtable, and Google Drive; send invoices, track billing, handle reimbursements, and manage the event calendar.
Who you are :
Warm, trustworthy, and genuinely loves people
Naturally organized and proactive – loves bringing order to chaos
Energized by hospitality, connection, and meaningful experiences
Communicates clearly and follows through quickly
Finds joy in small details that make something great
Bonus :
You know tools like Notion, Airtable, Google Calendar, and Canva.
You’ll get :
Access to one of the most interesting professional networks in the world (our members help collectively manage $250B+)
Creative autonomy to bring new ideas to life
Intimate, high‑end experiences in SF, NY, and LA
A chance to help rebuild our social fabric — one gathering at a time
