Job Title : Payroll Accounting Specialist

Location : Bremerton / On-site

Salary Range :

$70,000 - $85,000 DOE

Our client is seeking a detail-focused Payroll Accounting Specialist to support their payroll team through a high-visibility overtime reporting project and an upcoming payroll system transition. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, digging into data, and ensuring accuracy in a fast-moving environment.

As a Payroll Accounting Specialist, you will assist with splitting and reporting 2025 employee overtime into tax-deductible (FLSA premium) and non-tax-deductible (CBA premium) categories, while helping maintain compliance and transparency for employees.

Overview of the Payroll Accounting Specialist

Generate employee pay reports for project-specific payroll analysis.

Split eligible and ineligible premium time using Excel spreadsheets for reporting by

Reconcile spreadsheet balances against employee pay reports to ensure accuracy.

Provide support related to a payroll system transition from Paychex to UKG

Assist with additional account reconciliation tasks as needed.

Qualifications for the Payroll Accounting Specialist

Associate's degree or relevant coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred but not required.

1-2 years of payroll or accounting specialist experience.

• Ability to generate system reports and perform account reconciliations;

Intermediate Excel proficiency required (formulas, pivot tables, data sorting / clean-up).

Team & Work Environment :

You will work closely with a Payroll Supervisor and two Payroll Specialists.

This position reports directly to the Payroll Supervisor.

Casual dress environment.
