Job Description : Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP)

Job Summary
The Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP) will design, implement, supervise, and evaluate behavioral intervention services for individuals residing in Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes (EBSHs) and Crisis Homes (CCH). The QBMP will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive behavior supports, person-centered practices, and trauma-informed care to enhance the quality of life and achieve individualized goals for residents.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) in compliance with Title 17 §59050 requirements.
- Supervise the implementation of BSPs and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure fidelity of interventions.
- Train RBT’s / DSPs in behavior modification techniques, data collection, skill acquisition strategies, and positive behavior support practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions using data-driven decision-making and revise BSPs as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices regarding behavior modification and the use of restraint or containment as outlined in DDS guidelines.
- Utilize empirically validated teaching strategies, such as modeling, task analysis, chaining, prompting, and reinforcement, to promote skill acquisition and generalization.
- Support skill-building efforts by incorporating preference assessments, choice procedures, and activity-embedded instruction.
- Provide ongoing training and support for DSPs seeking Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, including supervision and competency assessments, as needed.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to person-centered planning processes.
Qualifications
Education and Licensure
Must meet one of the following qualifications :
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)Assistant Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)Licensed Psychologist (California Board of Psychology)A professional with California licensure permitting the design of behavior modification intervention servicesExperience
Minimum of two years of experience designing, supervising, and implementing behavior modification services for individuals with developmental disabilities.Experience working with individuals with significantly challenging behaviors, including those with intensive behavioral needs.Skills and Abilities
Willingness to be certified or is certified in the use of manual restraints and trauma informed care.Proficiency in conducting FBAs and developing BSPs using evidence-based practices.Ability to coach, train, and mentor DSPs in behavior management and skill acquisition techniques.Knowledge of positive behavior supports, person-centered practices, and trauma-informed care.Expertise in designing and evaluating interventions using objectives and data-driven methods.Strong knowledge of California laws and regulations regarding EBSHs, CCHs, and behavior modification services.Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to use best practices in functional behavior assessments and behavioral interventions.Experience with training DSPs for RBT certification and maintaining RBT supervision standards.Familiarity with an array of evidence-based teaching strategies and reinforcement procedures.Company Description

tBehavioral Assessment - Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify root causes of challenging behavior. Reassess annually or as needed to ensure progress.tBehavior Intervention Planning - Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that align with the outcomes in the client’s IPP / ISP, promote skill development, and reduce challenging behaviors. Support plans are regularly updated as behaviors evolve.tStaff Training & Support - Provide staff with ongoing training on implementing plans, using data collection methods, and responding to behaviors with appropriate strategies. Trainings also includes on-the-floor coaching during teachable moments.tClient-Centered Programming - Promote independence through teaching functional life skills, including communication, social interaction, and self-care. Provide monthly direct support to the individual to build rapport and reinforce positive change.tData Collection & Analysis - Ensure accurate data tracking of behavioral incidents. Provide tools and training to staff to support consistent data collection and implement replacement behaviors and coping strategies.tInterdisciplinary Collaboration - Maintain regular communication with day programs, regional center case managers, and supervising clinicians.
