Summary

As an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, you will function as a critical member of the emergency response team, providing immediate medical care to patients experiencing accidents, violence, or sudden illnesses such as cardiac arrests and strokes. You will deliver advanced life support care from the moment you are called until the patient is safely transferred to the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador for the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document treatments using patient care charting software accurately.
• Assist patients in crises—both psychiatric and medical—by providing necessary medical and therapeutic services.
• Work alongside a partner as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate essential emergency equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, and ECGs for advanced life support.
• Assess the extent of injuries or illnesses and prioritize medical procedures accordingly, ensuring patient stabilization and safe transport.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions and operate emergency vehicles with safety and control.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician, utilizing various methods including IV and injections.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel at treatment facilities regarding the care provided and any further instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and decontaminate the ambulance after treating any patients with infectious diseases, reporting incidents to the appropriate authorities.

Physical Demands

This role involves lifting over 50 lbs., pushing / pulling up to 140 lbs., and carrying 80 lbs. short distances. Expect frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
