Position Summary
This IR RN supports a busy procedural radiology department performing a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient image-guided procedures. The nurse circulates cases, administers conscious / moderate sedation, manages IV medications, and provides pre- / post-procedure patient care. The role requires strong procedural experience and the ability to respond quickly to urgent add-ons while on call.
Core Responsibilities
- Circulate IR procedures and support the physician / APC team throughout all phases of care.
- Administer conscious / moderate sedation (no propofol) and monitor patient response.
- Manage IV medications, hemodynamics, and procedural documentation.
- Prep, assess, and recover patients pre- and post-procedure.
- Assist with procedures requiring ultrasound guidance and provide support in CT as needed.
- Collaborate with techs, radiologists, and RRT for complex cases or deteriorating patients.
- Maintain workflow in a 2-suite IR department and manage emergent call-ins.
- Follow all safety, compliance, and sedation protocols.
