Summary

As an emergency response medical professional, you'll administer immediate medical care to individuals experiencing trauma, sudden illness, or medical emergencies. You will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until handover to accepting medical facilities.

Job Duties

• Represent the ambulance service at public functions and provide ambulance standby services as needed.
• Document full assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide medical and therapeutic care to patients in crisis situations.
• Serve as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment, including bag valve mask resuscitators and defibrillators.
• Assess injuries and establish priority medical procedures, including stabilization and safe transport of patients.
• Drive emergency vehicles safely and respond to dispatcher instructions.
• Administer medication under physician guidance through various methods.
• Communicate treatment instructions with medical personnel at health facilities.
• Clean and decontaminate ambulances after providing care to patients with infectious diseases.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent activities include standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
