Join our incredible OR Team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin with a 24 / 7 on-site heart-care team. We offer innovative care to patients statewide and beyond, making a substantial impact in their lives.
Schedule : Full-time evening shifts, either 8 or 10 hours from Monday to Friday, with on-call duties primarily overnight (average 5-8 call slots) and 1-2 weekend call slots within an 8-week schedule. Call responsibilities require arrival within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean and safe environment that promotes optimal patient care.Utilize aseptic techniques in preparation for surgical procedures.Set up and maintain the operating room efficiently for diverse surgical procedures.Function as a Second Assistant when necessary and aid surgeons during operations.Notify staff of any equipment or supply issues effectively.Transport patients and supplies as needed while maintaining safety protocols.Maintain specialty carts, ensuring equipment is in proper working order and sterile.Demonstrate knowledge to address the specific needs of patients across different age groups.Licensure and Certification :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required within six months of employment.Education :
Completion of an accredited or approved Surgical Technology program.Experience :
No previous experience required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques.Familiarity with equipment utilized in the operating room.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Basic computer proficiency.Physical Requirements :
