Addiction Medicine Physician

Position Overview :

Amergis Healthcare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible physician (MD / DO) in Addiction Medicine , Internal Medicine , or Family Medicine for a part-time opportunity in Rockland, Maine. This role focuses on addiction treatment services in a structured outpatient setting.

Start Date : Immediate

Duration : 3-month contract with potential for extension

Schedule : Mondays and Fridays 5 : 00 AM 11 : 30 AM

Call : Minimal weekend call (not guaranteed)

Responsibilities :

Provide direct care to patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders

Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and prescribe appropriate medications

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care

Participate in occasional weekend call coverage (minimal and not guaranteed)

Requirements : MD or DO

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine

Active Maine medical license

Active DEA registration

Current BLS certification

Experience in addiction medicine or substance use treatment preferred

Compensation & Benefits :

Competitive hourly rate : $120 / hour
