Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with trauma and general OR experience, BLS certification, and a MO or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a hospital settingTypical patient ratio is 1 : 2Evening shift, 5x8 hours per week (14 : 30–23 : 00)Requires participation in 9-12 on-call shifts per 6-week period, including possible weekend shiftsFloating between departments, units, and facilities may be required within scope of practiceEpic EMR is used, with training modules required before startBlock scheduling is not accommodatedRole requires the ability to handle both general OR and trauma casesPre-employment drug screening and lab work must be completed within 48-72 hours of signingPre-start orientation includes required online modules and equipment training (Epic, infusion pump, glucometer), to be completed prior to startMaximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyPrior travel assignments within the same health system require an 18-month gap with a 3-month break in serviceNo travel partners are accepted for this assignmentScrub and dress code requirements will be provided during orientationHoliday coverage may be required as scheduledRequirements
Active MO or compact RN license; must also possess both Kansas and Missouri or compact license for floatingCurrent BLS certification required2 years of recent specialty experience in the operating room, including general OR and trauma casesAt least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past yearPending license is acceptedSubmission of 2 professional references from the last year, one of which must be from a supervisor-level or aboveHome address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not acceptedBenefits
