IT Access Control Specialist

Our client is seeking an IT Access Control Specialist to join their team and support critical IT onboarding and access management functions. This role serves as a key point of contact for hiring managers and plays an integral part in delivering a seamless new hire experience while ensuring compliance with internal security policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

This role is fully remote.

IT Access Control Specialist Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end IT onboarding tasks, including equipment provisioning and access to systems and applications, ensuring readiness prior to start dates.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for hiring managers and new employees during the onboarding process, providing updates and resolving issues as needed.
  • Manage and maintain security-related documentation such as role-based access controls (RBAC) and approval matrices, ensuring alignment with access policies.
  • Partner with various IT teams and business owners to validate access requirements and escalate discrepancies or compliance concerns.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to IT access and provisioning using critical thinking and LEAN principles.

IT Access Control Specialist Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in IT support, onboarding, or provisioning, with a strong customer service background.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Active Directory, Mainframe, Oracle, or Azure is preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of identity and access management concepts and onboarding processes in a corporate environment.
