The Leave Coordinator operates remotely to provide Leave of Absence support services to the clients Human Resources department and employees. The Coordinator administers leave requests with specialized attention to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disability Act (ADA) state and local leave laws and short-term and long-term disability plans. Responsibilities include direct employee contact and various client-specific administrative duties related to Leave of Absence. The Coordinator is responsible to embrace the culture of our client and contribute to the culture of a well-being to best serve.

Location : This position is fully remote. Candidates must reside in a state where BCInsourcing operates to be eligible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains a detailed and in-depth understanding of the clients leave of absence program to independently evaluate all factors necessary to determine eligibility for leave; reviews medical records; determines FMLA status; and advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off sick time and short / long term disability benefits.
  • Responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner ensuring the employee is aware of their rights and responsibilities and any documentation and notice required to qualify for and take leave; investigates and resolves life cycle leaverelated concerns; supports leave of absence inbox and / or contact center as assigned; acts as a liaison between the clients HR department employees and disability benefit carriers.
  • Completes various administrative leave-related duties based on client need. Duties include (but are not limited to) processes leave of absence and return-to-work requests; communicates with employees and their managers on leave; gathers and completes all required paperwork including requests for medical certification; audits leave data; coordinates leave and disability claim support.
  • Guided by the clients internal policies administers other time-off programs as assigned in accordance with applicable laws; participates in revisions to leave policies to ensure compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations.
  • Intakes ADA accommodation requests and gathers all necessary data from leaders and medical professionals to work with the clients HR leaders in determining feasibility of the accommodation request.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and / or accommodation requests in accordance with the clients process specified legal requirements and best practices. Maintains confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Regular attendance is required. Hours may fluctuate during open enrollment periods and special projects in order to meet the needs of the client including extended work hours.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of leave administration experience; demonstrated extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA ADA and other applicable laws.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office including MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated articulate verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional experience demonstrating superior customer service skills while multitasking and working under pressure of deadlines.
  • Professional experience demonstrating self-motivation and result-driven outcomes with little to no supervision.
  • Proven experience following a step-by-step process while using analytical and deductive reasoning to produce positive and accurate outcomes.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Starting Hourly Range for This Position ranges between $24.00 - $30.00 / hr.

    The base hourly range represents the estimated low and high end of the hourly range for this position. BCInsourcing takes into consideration a combination of the selected candidates skill set experience qualifications licensure and other job-related reasons as it relates to the position. At our Company generally an individual would not be hired at the top of the range of the role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each posting.
