Senior Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This role is a contract-to-permanent position, offering the opportunity to contribute to core financial operations and assist in maintaining the organization's accounting infrastructure. The ideal candidate will take ownership of critical accounting functions, support monthly financial reporting, and collaborate with team members across various departments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the daily management of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure smooth transactions.
- Prepare and review semi-monthly payroll in adherence to organizational guidelines.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the generation of accurate financial statements.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are complete and precise.
- Support cash flow management by tracking bank balances, managing credit card activity, and ensuring sufficient cash availability.
- Provide assistance to project managers with budgeting, proposals, and project-related financial tasks.
- Administer the Acumatica financial system, including upgrades, reporting, and overall system improvements.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by overseeing property tax filings, sales and use tax submissions, and other relevant licenses.
- Conduct financial analyses and prepare ad hoc reports to support organizational decision-making.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial reviews and audits, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
Requirements :
Proven experience in month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.Strong knowledge of general ledger management and financial reporting.Expertise in grant accounting and familiarity with GAAP standards.Proficiency in handling fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and related transactions.Demonstrated ability to manage bank reconciliations and cash flow operations.Skilled in the use and administration of financial systems, particularly Acumatica.Solid understanding of tax compliance, including property tax and sales / use tax requirements.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to generate detailed financial reports.
