About the Role

A well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to manage high-volume AP, vendor relationships, and project-related invoice processing. Key Responsibilities

Process high-volume invoices , ensuring accurate coding to jobs, cost codes, and departments.

Review and match purchase orders, packing slips, subcontractor invoices, and lien waivers .

Maintain vendor files, set up new vendors, and verify compliance requirements (W-9s, COIs).

Work closely with project managers on AIA billing , change orders, job cost updates, and payment status.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies quickly.

Assist with check runs and ACH payments on a weekly basis.

Ensure compliance with company policies and state / federal regulations.

Support the month-end close process with AP accruals and reporting.

Qualifications

2-4+ years of AP experience , preferably in the construction industry .

Strong understanding of job costing , project billing, and vendor compliance.

Experience with AIA billing a plus.

Proficient with construction accounting or ERP systems (Procore, Sage 300, Viewpoint, Foundation, etc.).

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Proficiency in Excel and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
