Position Overview : The Morgan Oliver School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will teach science classes to students across multiple grade levels, focusing on Kindergarten / 1st grade, 2nd / 3rd grade, and 4th-6th grade. This part-time position requires 8-15 hours per week, distributed over two to three days.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) for students in Kindergarten / 1st grade, 2nd / 3rd grade, and 4th-6th grade.
- Utilize The Morgan Oliver School's scope and sequence to design and implement age-appropriate curriculum that supports students' scientific inquiry and exploration.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and projects to foster a love for science and enhance learning outcomes.
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to meet individual needs and learning styles.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate science concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students.
- Communicate regularly with parents / guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth in science.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).State teaching certification or licensure (preferred).Proven experience teaching science to elementary and / or middle school students.Knowledge of NGSS and experience with curriculum development and implementation.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students.Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.Benefits :
