Certified Phlebotomy Technician / Medical Assistant (Full Time, Day)

Job Description

At NorthBay Health, the Certified Phlebotomy Tech / Medical Assistant I (CPT / MA) act as both a CPT and a Medical Assistant, based on the needs in the department. The CPT / MAI collects and prepares lab samples for transport to reference laboratories. Registers patients and enters requisition into electronic medical record. They will facilitate the flow of information into and out of the lab by interacting with the public, using computer systems, delivering reports and answering phones and processes mail. They are responsible for providing direct patient care in support of a provider in an ambulatory care setting under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician. They may administer medications upon completion of medication administration course and specific supervision of a physician. Based on business need, may be assignment to other areas.

Qualifications

Education :

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a certificate.
• Program or additional classwork regarding medication administration required.
